Mission & values

To help readers reclaim their attention and their wonder.

Attention as care

To pay attention is to love. Every essay begins with looking closely.

Slowness as craft

Good work resists hurry. I write slowly and revise slower still.

Generosity as practice

Knowledge is meant to be shared, plainly and without pretense.

Values

What I keep returning to.

Tenderness as practice

The truest sentence is almost always the most useful one.

Slowness as wisdom

The soul is patient. It will not be rushed into the shapes we want.

Honesty as offering

The truest sentence is almost always the most useful one.
